Chapter XIV Cacio e Pepe
Today was a very slow Saturday, so I decided to cook something different. I've been entertaining the idea of making homemade pasta, I took some flour from the pantry a couple of eggs and figured out where that damn rolling pin was.
As it turns out, it's not that hard to make pasta... You throw some flour on the table, make a little mount, a tiny hole in the middle, crack two eggs there and get to scrambling... ok maybe it's a bit more complicated than that, Babish has a pretty good video on making pasta, if ya'll want to give it a try def check it out.
Anyway... I kneaded and kneaded and kneaded and kneaded until as Babish would say, the dough feels like play doh, then let it rest and finally found the dumb rolling pin...
You should really just watch the video I'm not writing a walkthrough of the entire thing, my arms hurt from kneading and rolling, maybe I should buy a pasta machine? just kidding. So yeah, it turned out really good taste wise tho it ended up being a bit thick. The cacio e pepe was not the same as Babish but the one from the BA kitchen, I don't have a link but they have some...
So that's that, the pasta was great, I had fun, and now I'm full and have some leftover noodles, I had a workout and took a picture...
Don't worry, I wont turn into a food blogger... or maybe I will, next time I'll write about that time I had an omekase.
